Title: Hamachi VPN
Hamachi VPN solution allows you to create your own network with your PCs at work and home. You can then access it from any location. It's secure, fast, and very easy to setup. Very handy for users who don't have VPN capabilities at the router/firewall level.

Title: Oldversion.com
Looking for old versions of software? This site maintains a collection of older software. Great for when you need a specific version. I needed Adobe Reader and didn't like the new bloatware version so went looking and was able to go back to v5.

Title: Kids Programming Language (KPL)
I ran into a great programming tool for anyone. If you want to get started and don't want to deal with a lot of the codes at start, this is a great way to get started.
The idea is to start with a simple environment and then migrate to the more complex environment such as Visual Studio, C/C++, etc.

Title: Issue with Microsoft KB885250 (MS05-011) - Disappearing Shares
I recently had an issue with Windows XP that caused shares on one workstation to disappear. I initially thought it was an issue with permissions and reset permissions on folders but was unsuccessful.
A quick search on Google lead me to an issue with an update from Microsoft - KB886250 (MS05-011). Apparently this "fix" breaks file sharing and randomly shares are not accessible from other machines.
The fix is to remove the hotfix. To do this follow the steps belows:
Reboot and everything should function. It took me a few months to noticed this problem so maybe it was there before but I did not notice it because I did not access certain folders/files.
Chalk one up for Microsoft!!! A hotfix that breaks something ... who would have guessed!?
UPDATE
I was able to find a patch that fixes this problem so you keep the patch installed. Check the following link for the specific patch depending on the OS:
